Planting it
Attach the rhizome to driftwood, rock or other hardscape with fishing line or plant adhesive. Never bury it, and keep it above the substrate. Put it where there’s gentle water movement, such as near a filter outlet.
Keeping the leaves clean
Shade or low light restricts algae on the slow-growing leaves. Wipe leaves gently with a soft cloth to remove algae or debris, and remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base of the rhizome. A little iron-rich liquid fertiliser supports the corrugated texture and the colour of new growth.
