Green Aquarium (“we”, “us”) sells aquarium plants, shrimp and supplies online at www.greenaquarium.com.au. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and who we share it with.

What we collect

  • When you place an order or create an account: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the details of your order.
  • When you contact us through a form or by email: your name, email address and the contents of your message.
  • Payment details are entered with our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card number.
  • When you visit the site: your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, collected by our hosting, security and caching services.

How we use it

We use your information to process and deliver your order, send order confirmations and shipping updates, answer your questions, keep the site secure and meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not send marketing emails and we do not sell your information.

Who we share it with

We only share what is needed to provide our service:

  • Payment providers: card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are processed through WooPayments (provided by Automattic, using Stripe), and Afterpay or PayPal if you choose them. They receive your payment and order details.
  • Australia Post, for orders that need to be posted. They receive your name, delivery address and contact details.
  • Mailgun, which sends our order and account emails.
  • Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the website.
  • Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its data in Australia.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We do not give your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart and keep the site secure. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”, and display preference cookies last one year. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for at least five years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Other information, such as account details and contact messages, is kept for as long as we need it and is then deleted.

Your rights

You can view and edit your account details in My Account at any time. To see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email [email protected]. We will delete it unless we need to keep it for legal, tax or security reasons. If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Security

We use security tools to protect the site and do not store payment card details. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
