Description

Overview

You count the bubbles passing through per minute to estimate your CO₂ injection rate. The Intense Precision Bubble Counter is stand-alone, so you can put it exactly where it’s easiest to see, and it has a built-in check valve.

Why stand-alone

Some regulators come with a built-in bubble counter, but a stand-alone unit gives you more flexibility. You can position it exactly where it’s easiest to see and count, at eye level or near the tank, instead of reading a small counter built into the regulator body, often tucked away behind the tank or cabinet.

A stand-alone counter is also easier to clean and maintain, and if it gets cloudy or damaged you can swap it without touching your regulator at all. It’s a small, inexpensive part that helps protect your much more expensive CO₂ equipment and takes the guesswork out of dialling in your injection rate.

Protecting your equipment

The built-in check valve stops water from your aquarium siphoning back into fragile and expensive CO₂ equipment such as regulators and solenoids, helping protect your set-up from water damage.

Setting it up

  1. Loosen the cap (the upper part) and fill the reservoir with clear water only, then fasten the cap firmly.
  2. Connect the CO₂ pipe following the inlet and outlet indication marks, using the screw node.
  3. Secure it to your aquarium glass with the suction cap.

Fill the bubble counter with water only.

Questions

Why use a bubble counter?

Counting the bubbles per minute lets you estimate your CO₂ injection rate.

What do I fill it with?

Clear water only.

How is it different from a drop checker?

A bubble counter shows what’s going into the tank. A drop checker shows the CO₂ level in the water.
